Moving On

It seems ages since I put pen to paper (so to speak!).

I experienced an odd feeling the other day. I handed the keys to a property we have just finished the refurb on, to the agent, to have it put on the market. Nothing unusual about this, but it was one of the properties we’ve been managing on behalf of a client, that I’d been involved in from the start. I have to say, I felt a bit like a Mom (which I am), saying goodbye and good luck to a child going out into the world!! I was the last person in, having cleaned up after all the craftsmen had left, all “snags” checked, paintwork touched up, etc.

My 2 children are grown up now – one is a partner in this company, and the other a barn manager for a large equestrian farm in the States. I’ve often been asked the question as to how I’ve coped with them moving away. My response is “Isn’t that what we bring our children up to do?” We say we want the best for them, for them to be happy in what they do as a career, and mine are, so there’s no time for feeling sorry for one’s self!

I am blessed to be closer to my son once again and involved in the business. I can only hope that that house we stripped bare, renovated, rejuvenated, gave new life to, will have new owners who enjoy living there.

So it is with all of the properties we deal with. As I write this, we are in the process of viewing around 40 properties that could come our way, and become available for investors. I hope to bring you more news on these shortly, so watch this space carefully, as good deals will always get snapped up quickly!

May I take this time to wish you all a very happy festive season, and all the very best for 2018, especially in the property market!!!
