News on SMP Investments & Project Management 🏚 ➡️ 🏡

What a glorious run of weather we’re having here in South Wales at least! It’s (almost) enough to make you feel happy to stay at home and enjoy it while it lasts.

SMP Academy Ageas Bowl

We are so excited to have recently held our 2nd Source My Property Academy training weekend. The setting was fabulous, at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. The cherry on the cake was being able to walk out of our meeting room at breaks to take in a bit of the county cricket match being played at the time.

We purposely restricted numbers this time, to get the feel of having a more intimate event, where delegates could interact as one big group, as well as the opportunity to be able to approach any of us with any further questions, or simply for a chat.

Any event has it’s positives and negatives, but we are determined to keep improving on the last one, and we value and listen to any feedback from attendees. Dates have already been set for the year and you can register your interest here!

One of the aspects touched upon in the teaching, was how and where to increase income. Project Management is one of these key areas. It’s also something we have added to the services we offer as a company. As we have so many projects and build teams on the go now, it has become a time-consuming necessity, so much so that we now have 2 full time project managers on board.

It is vital to us to provide excellent service to our clients, and we felt that they needed one person to liaise with. This person gives weekly reports to clients, as well as our directors, and is on the ground, at properties on a daily basis. It has become impossible for the directors to provide this service, as the company has grown too large, but the importance of this service is really the mainstay of who we are, and what we provide.

Clients receive photos at various stages of the development, and get to know their project manager, visit their property, and know that he/she is keeping a close eye on things. Of course there is a cost to the client, but this is explained and budgeted in at the beginning at a % of the build costs.

We feel that this set up really smoothes the relationship between builder and client, but it certainly doesn’t mean that the directors are not in touch on a daily basis. In fact, it helps them stay even more informed and involved, and able to concentrate on bigger things, while knowing that our clients and their projects are being well looked after.

So, wherever you may be this Summer, enjoy it and be happy!
