Well, my first blog of 2020, with hopefully many more to come!

I hope that it’s started off well for you all.
We’ve had a time of reflection, and have a clear plan of where we want to go this year, which is very exciting!
During my personal reading and reflection time in the mornings, I’ve realised that our business is not invested in property, as much as in people. Yes, we invest in bricks and mortar and add value to that wherever we can, but let’s face it, people live in homes.
Every run down, the empty property has a story behind it. We come across plenty of them, and I find myself drawn to hear some of these and to understand people’s emotional involvement in them.
As a company, we’ve already helped many property owners and landlords who have been sitting with properties unoccupied for a while for various reasons. We’ve sat with elderly people who’ve been left on their own with a property that they cannot maintain any more, properties that have been acquired through inheritance, and the new owners have their own properties, and don’t have the time or interest to maintain these and rent them out…… the list goes on. Some of the stories are heartbreaking, but they can be turned around into giving someone a source of income, someone else a home, help yet another person out of a financial burden, but most of all, turn a house into a home, for yet another story to begin.
There are plenty of houses we’ve been involved in, where we don’t know the story. I’d like us to get to know these a bit more, as I believe that we will only become better people when we attach and feel emotion and empathy in our dealings with others. I’m not talking about becoming that “emotional” that we make bad business decisions, but I hope you can relate to where I’m coming from.
With love.
