“Take Time to Make Time” ⌛️
/What does that statement mean to you?
Let me tell you what I mean by it.
How many of you feel there are not enough hours in the day to get through what needs to be done? Do you almost get through your email inbox, only to turn around and find another 50 messages have just landed? That’s not even counting the “Whats App” messages on your phone!
I am in the stage of my life where I (should be) slowing down, or at least able to take stock, do what’s asked or required of me, and generally observe you “go getters” striving to build businesses, portfolio’s, relationships, and so on.
That doesn’t mean that I don’t have days where I don’t have time to sit still, and I’m still taking on new projects, learning new skills and actively involved in teaching sport.
I give myself time in the mornings to read or listen to something of value or interest, and have recently been reading about this very topic.
I see it every day in our property business too, and see the stresses it brings on a daily basis. But I also see people who are not only succeeding in building a large thriving business, but also trying to improve themselves, and at the same time learn and improve procedures and structures within the business.
Without this, you can’t grow – we all have a limited number of hours in the day, and a limited capacity to function under pressure and give attention to different areas of a business.
You will never have enough time, if you don’t MAKE the time. It can be an invaluable exercise to put the phone away and spend an hour teaching someone else procedures that can end up taking a load off your plate. This can be scary, I admit, being a bit of a “control freak” myself, always thinking it’s easier to just do the job myself, but you need to free yourself up to do what you’re best at.
Hire the right people for the right job, teach, delegate, and let others help you out.
We are continually striving to do this as a company, and though we provide a wide range of services, Property Sourcing is our business, and we’re getting pretty good at it!!
Have a great week, or 2, until I write again.
